The shell of this Custom Shop snare is made from a 11mm solid aluminum sheet that was calandered, welded and turned, reducing its thickness to a “mere” 8mm. Since this was “still not enough”, the customer opted for our Hard Hoop Aluminum hoops, turned from a solid block of naval aluminum individually laminated and molded. The sound is brutal, massive, incredible. This is really the best way to describe it, if this is your style of drum.
featuring solid brass vintage lugs and a supersensitive strainer system, where the snares are bigger than the diameter of the drum (hence the two bridges to support the snares).
The finish is brushed steel and the middle part of the shell was ground by hand. Indeed a special snare drum for the musician who wants a heavy sound with LOTS of attack and amazing look!
